Merry Christmas

Once again Age Concern Luton have sent out sackloads of Xmas cards to users of our services!

We’ve been asked why we still do this what with rising postage prices, a switch to more digital methods and more concern about the environmental aspects of physical cards. However we know that for lots of our older peopel Xmas is a time of extreme loneliness.

Our Director, Colette, often tells our team during induction of a visit she made many years ago and the older gentleman had his Age Concern Luton Xmas card, the first he had received in a good while, proudly perched upon his TV (something that isn’t possible with newer sets!).

We often tell our volunteers that something that seems quite inconseqeuntial to them, such as making a short phone call to an older person, might very well be the highlight of that older person’s day!

This year we’ve also include an extremely short feedback form to allow us to take a general temperature test of Age Concern Luton and see whether those older people using our services would recommend us to their friends amongst other general quality perceptions.
